The best I am able to do is to show the adoration, respect and 'worship' to the magnificent equines in my keeping as a post humus homage to 'our' beloved Reckless.

Semper Fidelis, now and FOREVER my beloved. May the HORSE be with us ALWAYS...

~"If there are more beautiful, magical and mystical beings in this world than equines are, I have yet to discover them and am not convinced it's even possible for such to exist." – 01/06~ Darrell Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09053505537421190171noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1230535501319274821.post-9641916853203397832017-02-10T21:58:25.769-08:002017-02-10T21:58:25.769-08:00Robin Hutton captured the essence of the sacrifice...Robin Hutton captured the essence of the sacrifices of millions of horses and mules as they fought, died, and survived the battles and wars of human beings. Not enough has been written about the relationship between horse and human in wartime, but Robin did her homework, with the help of those who knew Sgt. Reckless, and allows the reader to glimpse the magical relationship between this mare, who accepted her fellow marines as her herd, and the men who made her a Marine. Robin's account of the Battle of the Nevada Cities, Chapter 6, makes one feel you were there. One wonders how any living thing could have survived that barrage and how one small mare had the heart to do what she did without bolting in fear. I could not put this book down, didn't want the story to end, and can't wait to see Sgt. Reckless on the silver screen. Robin's work had helped immortalize Sgt. Reckless, in bronze and in words. Thank you so, much, Robin. This was a true labor of love.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05597801979346324292noreply@blogger.com
